THE LEADERSHIP MASTERCLASS PROJECT COMBINES THE SAID FIFTEEN PRINCIPLES WITH THE CONCEPT OF MODERN, PRACTICAL, SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP focused on constant personal development, the art of developing authority, and involving and empowering other people.
THE LEADERSHIP MASTERCLASS IS INSPIRED BY THE WORDS OF POPE FRANCIS, spoken during his annual Christmas greeting to cardinals on 22 December 2014. The Pope listed fifteen ailments the Church should address.
IT IS ALSO INSPIRED BY PROFESSOR GARY HAMEL’S SPEECH. One of the leading global experts in leadership put forward “The 15 Diseases of Leadership, According to Pope Francis” and his article, published by the Harvard Business Review, sparked great interest and earned him wide acclaim within the world of business and beyond.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
According to a survey by Deloitte, the so-called “Millennials” regard leadership as the highest competence in contemporary business. At the same time, the majority of them believe that their employers do not help them develop this competence to a sufficient degree. What employees expect is not only good salaries and healthcare benefits, but also personal development and a sense of purpose.
WHAT DO THESE VALUES AND PRINCIPLES MEAN FOR MANAGEMENT?
In one of his speeches addressed to the Roman Curia, Pope Francis listed debilitating maladies such as “arrogance, intolerance, myopia, and pettiness. When those diseases go untreated, the organization itself is enfeebled. To have a healthy church, we need healthy leaders.”
IN A PERSONAL WAY, REPRESENTATIVES IN THE FIELDS OF SCIENCE, CULTURE AND BUSINESS CAN EMBODY THE 15 POSITIVE PRINCIPLES, which can help any potential leader, regardless of his or her circumstances, grasp the right goals in life. The following guests attended the 2017 pre-premiere in Poland: Bishop GRZEGORZ RYŚ, ANNA DYMNA, SZYMON HOŁOWNIA, JAŚ MELA, PAWEŁ MOTYL, PAWEŁ KONZAL, S. MAŁGORZATA CHMIELEWSKA, AND KRZYSZTOF ZANUSSI.
